Dr. Franklin
Rudolph M. Franklin, M.D. earned his
undergraduate and medical degrees at Johns Hopkins University in
Baltimore, Maryland. His postgraduate training in ophthalmology was
done at The Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medical
Institutions, Baltimore. His additional training in immunology and
retinal diseases also took place at Wilmer. Dr. Franklin served two
years in U.S. Public Health Service stationed in Bethesda, M.D.
performing immunology and allergy research.
Dr. Franklin moved to the New Orleans area to join
the Faculty at the L.S.U. Medical Center, New Orleans, where he was
promoted to Professor of Ophthalmology. He then pursued a private
practice in New Orleans and various sites along the Gulf Coast. His
primary office location in New Orleans flooded when Hurricane
Katrina struck in 2005, and the primary office was relocated to
Slidell, LA.
Doctor Franklin specializes in the diagnosis and
treatment of diseases of the retina and inflammatory eye diseases
including Uveitis. Dr. Franklin has been in practice in New Orleans
and the Gulf Coast region since 1978.
